ABOUT THE ARTIST
Kate Togher-Ward is a multimedia creative specialising in Fine Art Print. In an effort to attune her work to natural processes and rhythms, she works collaboratively with the natural world, a process that require time, attentiveness, patience and care.
Kate is a member of Black Church Print Studios.
PROJECTS
In Pursuit of the Moon
In Pursuit of the Moon is a body of work concerned with revealing a hidden pattern and reflecting the human experience in the microscopic. Over 600 moths were hand raised on soft ground copper plates with their life cycle and metamorphosis captured, etched, printed and immortalised.
The Thin Place
The Thin Place is a collaborative project between Videographer Michael Coady, Photographer and Writer Harry Forkan and Artist Kate Togher-Ward.
In this project several places throughout Ireland where the veil between worlds is considered thin were explored and documented.
Made Tender by the Earth
Made Tender by the Earth is a developing body of work concerned with natural rhythms and materials. The necessity of patience and nurture without the expectation to yield results is a central motif within this project.
